How To Order

Step One

Contact us to begin the purchasing process.
The number of animals that we have available for purchase each season varies as we do not artificially alter mother nature’s natural processes in any way. We select only males for purchase and if at the time of your inquiry we do not have any animals unreserved, you may request to be placed on our waiting list for the next round of steers available. Please be advised that our animals sell quickly, so be prepared to reserve yours well in advance of your desired date of processing and possession.

Step Two

Secure your small batch beef with a deposit.
If we have animals available, one will be selected and your name will be attached to that animal. A non-refundable deposit in the form of cash or check is required in order to confirm the sale and the balance is due before the animal is shipped to the processor.

All of our animals are finished to a weight of 1,000-1,200 pounds. We find this gives us the best percentage of beef versus waste and gives the best cuts of beef at the best price. Larger animals will have more waste due to bone, fat, and cowhide weight. Lighter animals will not have the quality and size of cuts that the optimum weight we have determined will provide.

Step Three

Select your preferred cuts and make final payment.
Your 1,000-1,200 pound animal will yield 500-600 pounds of beef. Animals are best sold as wholes or halves. Quarters are not a viable option because of the extra cost for processing as well as the limited amount of cuts that you are able to get. If a quarter is what you desire, we suggest finding four people to split a whole animal, processing in halves, and then dividing up the cuts that you want amongst yourselves.

The final price of the animal is based on current market price at the time of purchase. Currently, a whole animal will sell for $8.00 per pound with processing included. A half will sell for $8.50 per pound. This price per pound is only for the amount of beef realized after the animal is processed. Therefore, the total final cost is approximately $4,800 for a whole animal and $5,100 if the animal is halved.

Please keep in mind these prices can change with changes in market price as well as costs of grain and processing fees.
