Our Story

When my great great grandfather, William Dreyer, bought the first parcel of land for our farm on New Year’s Eve in 1865 he began a legacy that no one could comprehend. Beginning as a dairy that worked until the early 1950s, pride was taken in producing the highest quality milk that could be offered. My great grandfather Carl Henry Dreyer lived just long enough to see my grandfather Clark Dreyer return from service in WWII and, after passing away in 1946, the dairy did not last much longer. At that time, the switch was made to raise crops and beef cattle. This was the protocol until the mid 1990s when my father, Carl Edward Dreyer, decided that there was no money to be made in crop farming and made the switch to total beef production. The crop areas were then planted with quality grasses that we may have enough to produce hay for our growing herd—the same way we still do things today!

With my two children, seven generations have lived in the Dreyer family home. The amount of pride we feel knowing that we can continue my ancestors passion of responsible agriculture and supply for our local food chain is truly humbling. We are excited to have the opportunity to provide families what we have affectionately called “Small Batch Beef.”

A premium product requires land management techniques taught for generations to responsibly utilize our 64-acre farm and managing our 30 count herd to its maximum. We are truly blessed to be able to offer quality grass fed, non-modified or recklessly vaccinated beef that we feel is critical for healthy lifestyles! Not only do our cattle graze on this property alone, all of the hay they are fed through the winter months is grown and harvested here as well. By keeping our herd small we are able to interact much more closely with each animal, being able to give them proper attention to maintain health and wellness and not solely focus on production numbers, like many larger producers do.

We only use local butcher shops that we have relationships with to provide you quality packaging so that once your animal has been delivered, you can call in the instructions for how you want the animal processed to best serve your families needs and wants.

Genetics and proper breeding are how we produce top beef. We are proud to be members of the American Angus Association. Having access to registration and genetic records of animals, including our own, and the knowledge of over 22,000 farmers and ranchers across the United States is a powerful tool. Not only does this enable us to maintain premium stock but offer you, the consumer, the best naturally-raised beef for your family.

We want you to be comfortable and confident, knowing that anything you purchase from this farm will be of the highest quality. We’ll stake our over 150 year legacy on it!
